Storm Warning: Why Hurricanes Are Growing Beyond Measure, with Michael Wehner
We all know that extreme weather events like hurricanes are getting worse due to climate change, but what scientists would really like to know is: By how much worse exactly? This year a team of researchers argued that hurricanes have become so much more extreme due to climate change that we need to add a new category 6 to the Saffir-Simpson scale, which measures the wind speed of hurricanes.
One of those scientists was Michael Wehner from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Using the latest and fastest computers to model how a warming world is reshaping extreme weather events, Wehner is leading a new realm of climate modeling called "end-to-end attribution." This would allow us to not o...

Why We Die-And How We Can Live Longer, with Nobel Laureate Venki Ramakrishnan

They’re perhaps the oldest questions in the science: Why do we die? And could we find a way to live forever? But for decades, anti-aging research was a “backwater” of the scientific community, consider too fanciful and unrealistic. That is until the last few years. Modern advances in biology have taught us a lot about how we age and why we die-could that knowledge help us turn back the clock? I...

Many people have been asking for my view on this conflict. For a long time I have resisted. Why? To address this question, I'm going to take a three pronged approach. Firstly, I'll go through the underlying structural causes. Then, the precipitating causes. And lastly, my response to these requests. Underlying structural causes. What's that? (4) Russia is destroying Ukraine. (5) America is unable to prevent the defeat of Ukraine despite spending billions of dollars. (6) Russia cannot be stopped even with thousands of sanctions. (7) BRICS is going to introduce new currency under the leadership of Russia. Through which the petro-dollar hegemony is going to end forever. Pratap Bhanu Mehta is a well respected brown coloured puppet for Front for Christian Missionaries + Islamist Jihadis + CIA + Soros funded tukde tukde gang + Sonia's angry relatives after Modi stopped all money transfer & commissions! Propaganda channels for CIA & deep state employs brown coolies to weaken any rising nation so no doubt that their new target is Modi but actual target is the Hindus! P R Mehta theories are all hogwash, essentially all of these entities are fronts of CIA specializing in developing narratives! Good, more vitriol they espouse there will be more votes for Modi! Muslim population increased from 9 to 16 percent in India whereas Hindu population decreased from 30% to 8% in Bangladesh & Hindu population decreased from 9% to 1% in Pakistan! Christian population increased from 1.5% to 5% in India! Hindu population in India decreased from 84% to 78% but Hindus are so evil! Narrative building by covertly utilising the thinktanks, NGO's & some brown slaves is the Neo-Colonist & new strategy to form SLAVE nations by the White Masters consisting of earlier day colonists & slave masters!

What she didnt say is they found the compound/building near the caves, it has massive baptismals, there is evidence of eating locusts and honey and evidence of this being John ghe baptists crew, and also evidence of John being high priest and that when John baptised Jesus it was almost a frasfer backbto malcadesik prest hold. Also what was not said was they had the 9 red hefers ashes in a urn the ashes needed to be mixed into a new red hefers ashes to cleanse the instraments for another temple not that we should do that, but it is furthur evidence that they are who they said they are.

The ties between the US and Europe will fade gradually. USA will be a predominantly Latino country that belongs to the Americas in two hundred years. Europe needs to get back from 1945 and find its place on the Euroasian continent, not hang with people on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean who are in the demolition business. But all of that will come naturally since Russia and China build a trade that will last. In a couple of years the northern searoute between Shanghai and Rotterdam will open up and tie Europe economically to Asia. The sanctions on Russia have no future for us, only for the US. Western Europe needs to be a part of the Russo-Chinese visions and the new world order that takes shape. The Middle East are our neighbours and what the US does there is contraproductive for Europe. America will eventually become a nation among nations, not a self appointed world police like today. The question Americans should ask themselves is if they believe the waging of wars give them the respect they so hunger for. Didn't the Taliban told USA that it doesn't. The prestige has never been lower. 🇸🇪❤️🇷🇺✌️🆗️

Professor Mearsheimer clearly knows the theories of 'offensive realism', but he must have forgotten the history of what Stalin did to Ukraine in his collectivization that resulted in the 'holodomore' where millions died. The people of Ukraine know what it means to live under Russian control and it is only natural that they seek an alliance with NATO. Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania opted to join NATO as soon as they could....NATO and the US did not have to seek them out or persuade them because they knew very well what Russian control looked like.

The USSR paid off all the debts of Ukraine before you received "freedom and democracy", which led to the fact that in 30 years your country has accumulated debts for dozens of generations. Your hatred of the Russians is the reason for everything that exists now. Your inability to think has led to what you have now. For your information, let me remind you of a fact that you strongly ignore: THE HOLODOMOR WAS EVERYWHERE, not only in Ukraine. I am from Odessa myself and I say quite calmly that you are lying. Ukraine has not built anything new in 30 years, everything is old since the Soviet era. Is this a development in your opinion? Is independence in the understanding of Ukraine to be dependent on the United States? Is this begging? Moreover, the beggar is not only Yelensky, but also the people of Ukraine, who left the West as refugees to Europe (Germany mainly). They don't work, they don't want to, they just ask and ask. As parasites of society. After what Ukraine has done to us since 2014, for inciting hatred towards us, there is no sympathy and pity. Even now, the people of Kiev refuse to tell the truth about what they did to us Russian Ukrainians.

German chancellor of that time for some reason proposed the question of independent Slovakia, Havel told him most Slovaks wanted to remain, yet year after that the republic was split without any referendum on it . Political games, nothing else. :))

Before you become too swayed by Mearsheimer's bizarre position, it may be worth considering several holes in his arguments. To name just a few: 1) He talks of former Eastern Bloc countries being enticed by the West to join NATO without any mention of the terrible conditions and oppression those countries experienced under Soviet rule and their consequent desire to protect themselves from future Russian domination. Let's face it, no one was trying to flee from West Germany to East Germany. It was always the other way around. That tells you a lot as to why countries in eastern Europe wanted to join NATO once they had the chance. 2) He's virtually an apologist for Vladimir Putin somehow conflating Putin's psychopathy with sensible Russian foreign policy. 3) At 23:17 he says Putin is too smart to try to conquer Ukraine; "that's not going to happen" he predicts. Well, history has proven him to be wildly wrong. For some odd reason, it seems he likes to give Putin the benefit of the doubt. 4) He defends Russia's invasion of Ukraine as being an understandable response to the threat of NATO expansion, yet he condemns Israel's invasion of Gaza even though Israel was not simply threatened by it's neighbour, it was actually attacked. Regardless of where one stands on the war in Gaza, those two positions contradict each other. Sometimes intellectual outliers see a truth that others can't or prefer not to. And sometimes they're outliers because what they say doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
